Successful Surprise Valentines Gift

Well in the previous post I enlightened you folks as to the processes involved in the construction of the chainmaille choker with which I had hoped to surprise my girlfriend. Astonishingly, this surprise valentines gift actually did indeed surprise her! I myself am rather taken aback by the fact that she didn't already assume and realize that I was working on a project for her specifically. She simply assumed that my efforts in chainmaille were simply 'practice' (which they were) and did not directly involve her at all. So she was not expecting anything to say the least. I told her that I always have 'evil' genius little plans dancing through my brain and she concurred, being quite impressed at my ability to keep the entire project secret from her, even down to timing the last post to be automatically published half an hour after the estimated delivery of her gift by FedEx.

Of course this is simply the tip of the iceberg and she has no idea that I have actually already completed her chainmaille bra and all that remains is to ensure that it does indeed actually fit her. I actually made the bra through a tutorial I found and purchased online at www.theringlord.com. I spent my time working on the choker to gain experience with the European 4-1 weave, which is the primary weave utilized by the bikini top. Once I felt comfortably proficient, and felt daring enough, I decided to order the rings I would need. I placed the order and then had them rush shipped to me in order to have them arrive by Friday on February 3rd. I wanted to get as much as possible finished by the time the weekend was over due to my extremely busy schedule and the upcoming retreat (MuKappa a campus club I am a part of) and holiday (valentine's day). I needed to be done with something in time to ship it as a Valentine's gift. I managed to complete the cups by the end of the weekend but not without much difficulty in getting the pattern to lay in the correct direction however.

Later that week I managed to hash out time to complete the straps that would support the entire piece. Now all that is left is to give my girlfriend her second gift, this bra is totally going to catch her completely off-guard. I am now confident of this due to the fact that the chainmaille choker itself was totally unexpected for her! I know for a fact that if she did not anticipate that, she won't even have planned on my already having completed her chainmaille bra. Of course I will need to make adjustments to the bra to ensure that it fits her properly. But first I need to have her try it on and get her opinion on what adjustments are required.

Of course by the time this gets posted, I will have already given her the chainmaille bikini top. I just need to ensure that this does not post too early lest my evil genius plans be revealed prematurely and the surprise spoiled.
